Goal Horn System for the Minnesota Northern Lights

GOAL HORN

Historic City, Historic Sound

The Ralph Englestad Arena was looking for a horn that had a connection to the city of Thief River Falls. With the railways being a large part of the city's history, an authentic train sound was a clear choice.

A new Nathan Airchime Train horn was generously donated to the rink and installed on October 3rd, 2026.

HORN SYSTEM

Goal Horn System

ArenaFX selected, configured, and installed an air-delivery system that could support the large air demands of a train horn. Additionally, a hardwired button was routed across the rink to the press box, where the activation button was placed.

The horn is mounted in a small cubby above the concourse using a custom designed mount.

The result provides an authentic horn sound that gives an electric atmosphere when the Minnesota Northern Lights and others, score a goal.
